Living Life to the Full for Caregivers 55+
Caregivers face particular life challenges that can create feelings of stress, guilt, sadness and isolation. For caregivers over the age of 55, there are also challenges associated with getting older that can impact well-being; such as changes in social networks or health issues associated with aging. It can sometimes be difficult to engage in important self-care activities while taking care of others.
The truth is, caregivers can be even better at taking care of others if they take care of themselves too! That is why our partners at CMHA Ontario and CMHA Toronto are excited to launch the Living Life to the Full for Caregivers 55+ project! This project, running November, 2015 to October, 2018, will allow caregivers over the age of 55 to access Living Life to the Full for free in community hubs throughout Toronto. By participating in the 8-week Living Life to the Full course, caregivers can gain skills and knowledge to cope with life’s challenges, as well as meet and share with other caregivers.
